Relational analytics for distributed teams

August 2022 Nice idea but...

I decided to end this project. It's a nice idea, but since creating the MVP I didn't do anything on it. It was more of a learning project (what can I build) than a real business.

A short pitch about what it could have been is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VJ_7xjSrHk

November 5, 2019 Website is online

I'm finally done with the website. Thanks to a couple of no-code tools (webflow, makerpad, memberspace) I got a working sign-up. Yes, it is not ideal, but it is the next step. People can sign up, view the demo dashboard and I have a better way to share what I'm doing. I hated doing the screen recording. For someone who stutters recording my voice is awful.

At times it feels like taking mini-steps and that progress is extremely slow, but better going forward than not going anywhere.

Where did you end up with this. I was disappointed to see https://ccmap.netnigma.com/ was a 404.

I paused the technical part of it . It became too much alone. The dashboard is based on social network analysis. I provide information/education about team dynamics via my newsletter.

Hey this is awesome news! Did you do the graphic design yourself? Your website looks nice and clean! I'm looking to pick new founders brains to get a better feel for your startup experience and what we can do to help other founders out that are going through what you just did. Would you be open to hopping on a call or exchanging emails ? My email is patfdufresne [at] gmail.com

Looking forward hearing back from you!

Nice work. @katerinabc. I’m iterating as we speak with no-code as well. Keep up the good work.

August 20, 2019 Finished the demo

After many long nights and weekends behind the laptop, I've finished the MVP. There is still a list of features I like to add, but at the moment I'm done coding. There are more important things to do than to refine the product (my kids, finding a co-founder, website, discovery calls).

June 29, 2019 The Idea

This product started after combining a number of conversations I had. In brief, these conversations touched upon the following topics:

  1. I'm teaching relational analytics for quite some time to HR professionals. We discuss communication and how employee engagement and company culture impact communication patterns. I know the potential, and I know that HR professionals value combining these two data sources. I also have not seen any tool in that area.
  2. I'm active in the remote work community. Communication is key for distributed teams. As important is organizational culture, it's the thing that glues team members together in the absence of face-to-face interaction.

Thanks to the help and motivation I got from the workfrom community, I just gave it a shot and started working on it. I'm not a software developer, but a computational social scientist. My knowledge of any coding language is limited and I had to learn a lot on the way. What I achieved so far has been great progress for me.

Lessons learned:

  • Just give it a try. Keep in mind what you want to achieve and document your learning. If your product fails, you can look back at a huge set of new skills you acquired .
  • Seek out people to motivate you.
