CDR Platform

Building an API to connect businesses to carbon dioxide removers was an idea from two years ago and now we are finally acting on it.

To be clear, CO₂ removal (CDR) is not a new passion for us. We run https://carbonremoved.com - a service for individuals to buy or subscribe to carbon removal - and have seen an explosion in demand from both consumers and businesses. It was time to launch our second CDR project.

While the dream is to ultimately work on these impactful tech projects full-time, my co-founder and I still have full-time jobs to pay the bills. These side projects are the 'slow-burn' we are hoping will grow and eventually surpass our jobs for us.

For now we took 2 weeks of holiday, locked ourselves away with some pizza and built the MVP for https://cdrplatform.com - a simple API to purchase carbon removal. We think there are already plenty of fantastic ways to use even this basic project, bringing meaningful climate action to you, your business and your customers.

In the upcoming posts we'll detail our thought process from both a technical (data modelling, language and hosting choices etc.) and a business (pricing, marketing, opportunities) perspective.
