PL-200 vs AB-410: Microsoft Power Platform Certification Change Explained
The direct answer: PL-200 retires on August 31, 2026 and AB-410 is its official replacement. If you are already deep into PL-200 preparation and can test before August 31, finish it. If you are starting fresh today, go directly to AB-410 its beta launched this month in April 2026 and it goes live in June 2026.
This is the most significant change to Microsoft’s Power Platform certification path in years. PL-200 has been the primary credential for Power Platform functional consultants since 2020. AB-410 is not a version update, it is a fundamentally different certification for a fundamentally different era of Power Platform work.
