April 30, 2019 Got rid of Slack πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ’»

If things are overly involved for customers they won't use it. The first release of Chariot required customers to have a Slack instance running. We were also need some legacy tokens from Slack to make Chariot work and some aggressive API permissions .

As nicely as it made Chariot work, I wanted it to be an option rather than requirement.

So I moved our notifications to be SMS by default.

This has certainly lowered the barrier to entry.

I've been a developer a long time and people have paid me for my skills, but it's very different thing to have an effective stranger pay for something you've built on an on-going basis.

About

After building a tool for my own church to solve a transportation issue, another church wanted the same thing.
