My Process for Building an MVP Together with Guy in 3 Weeks

Building an MVP in just three weeks was intense, but the key was focus and collaboration. From the start, Guy and I knew we needed a lean version of our vision for ChartDB - something that worked well but didn’t have all the bells and whistles.

First, we outlined the essential features that made the product valuable. For us, that was enabling users to visualize database schemas with a single query. We set clear goals for each week, keeping the scope realistic. Guy focused on the front-end experience, making sure the UI was intuitive and clean, while I tackled the back-end, ensuring the database queries worked seamlessly.

Communication was critical. We synced up daily, addressing challenges quickly and adjusting our priorities. By keeping our feedback loop tight, we avoided major roadblocks.

By the end of three weeks, we had a functional MVP that was simple, effective, and ready for feedback. It wasn’t perfect, but it solved the problem we set out to address - and that’s what mattered most.
