Charter Stack

Operating System for AI-Run Businesses

July 13, 2026 Charter Stack — I built a $12 kit that has your AI agent set up your own business operating system

Most "run your business with AI" advice stops at "have it write your captions." I wanted the layer underneath that: something that actually tells an agent what it can decide alone, what still needs me, and how we work together day to day — instead of re-explaining context every session or the agent quietly stalling because it isn't sure what it's allowed to do.

So I wrote it down. Charter Stack is four documents — an Operating Charter (decision-authority table), a Human Task Queue (the only list you check), a Venture Brief (real milestones, not vibes), and a Quick-Start Checklist — plus an Agent Setup Prompt that you hand to your own AI agent, which then interviews you and fills in the other three itself.

I generalized this from actually running it across a small portfolio of AI-assisted solo ventures I operate, not from theorizing about it.

$12, one-time, plain markdown files (works in Obsidian, Notion, anywhere). No testimonials yet — I published today. Happy to answer questions about the operating model itself, that's the part I actually care about getting right.

I like that you're treating AI as an operating partner rather than just a content generator.

The interesting part isn't the prompts themselves. It's making decision boundaries explicit so the agent knows what it can act on independently and where human judgment is still required. That feels much closer to designing an operating system than a prompt library.

I run several AI-assisted solo businesses and kept hitting one failure: agents stalling over ambiguous authority, or me becoming the bottleneck. Charter Stack is that fix, written down once.
