ChatAll

Over the next 2 years, we were in a user acquisition stage.

During this time we also received many requests for a Community feature where users can find other individuals whom are also using the app as a language learning tool, or to communicate with others around the world that speak other languages.

This was a major update. A community section, a complete redesign of the app with other functionality, and a superscription option for ChatAll Plus was introduced.

Apple featured ChatAll on the front page of the App Store in the "New Apps We Love" section! This was an exciting surprise!

This really helped the apps exposure and gave ChatAll the opportunity to build a large community of users. At this point ChatAll was a free app with no monetization, so although we received many users during this feature, it didn't bring any profits.

Our biggest user request was to add an additional feature that would allow you to message with other who do not even speak your language. I wanted to add this feature, while still keeping the original feature of being able to see your conversation translated into the language that you want to be immersed in.

I created the ability for the incoming message to be translated into your own language before it arrived, while still displaying the conversation into the language I want to be immersed in.

Over the next 3 years I worked on ChatAll as a side project. I had a programming background, but had to learn how to create iOS Apps. I created a couple apps before starting the work on ChatAll.

In Nov 2016 I finally launched my first version. It was a simple messaging app, which allowed me to see my daily text correspondences in another language as well, in real time. Basically, keeping me immersed in Romanian daily as I communicate through texts in English.

In 2013, while traveling to my home country of Romania, I noticed how much better my fluency in Romanian got just from being immersed/surrounded by it. Though it would be great if this would continue even when being at home in the US.

The idea to see my daily [text] correspondence in another language, along side my regular conversation, was born.
