ChatPhotoFix
Photo Editor
I’ve spent the last couple months glued to my laptop, shipping a little thing called ChatPhotoFix. Here’s the short version of why I’m putting nights and weekends into it.
A while back I was helping a friend list vintage sneakers on Etsy. Great shoes, terrible pictures. Every pair needed the same three tweaks: sharpen, brighten, knock out the messy bedroom floor in the background. We’d open Photoshop, wait for it to load, hunt for the right filter—then repeat, photo after photo. By 2 a.m. we were half‑asleep, the sneakers still looked meh, and I was asking myself, Why is this still so painful in 2025?
Most of the flashy “AI image” tools out there want to generate new worlds from a prompt. Cool, but if you’re a small seller, blogger, or indie app maker, nine times out of ten you just need to fix the shot you already have. No one wants to spin up a Discord bot or learn 27 sliders just to un‑blur a product photo.
So I hacked together a prototype: drag & drop, pick a fix, done. No sign‑ups, no credit‑card wall. I tossed it to a couple newsletter writers and designer friends. Within a week they’d run 4,000 images through it—more than I managed in two months of my own testing. That’s when the penny dropped: maybe this itch isn’t just mine.
Since then I’ve wrapped the best open‑source models behind a dead‑simple UI, sprinkled in little affordances (instant before/after toggle, keyboard shortcuts), and kept the price at “coffee money” for makers. My goal’s pretty modest: if ChatPhotoFix saves you the fifteen minutes you were about to waste inside a heavyweight editor, I’ll call it a win.
Still loads to polish—edge cases, mobile UX, all that—but the core idea feels right: make photo fixes as easy as hitting “send”. If that resonates, I’d love feedback (or bug reports). Thanks for reading, and good luck shipping whatever you’re building next.
About
I’m building ChatPhotoFix because quick image edits shouldn’t be hard. Most AI tools chase “create from scratch,” but indie makers spend 80 % of their time just fixing existing photos—unblurring, removing noise, up‑scali
