Chatrabot

Well, not exactly an endorsement, but after a review process, Facebook actually gave my Facebook app permission to interact with pages so that my application can send automated messages to end users (and so be able to function as a ChatBot).

This involves some development as you need to be able to interact with Facebook APIs and ensure things are working for the testers. It also involves making sure the permissions you are requesting are correct and are correctly used.

I wouldn't categorize it as a development task though, it's more of an administrative task of submitting an application/permission request and making sure things are deployed correctly.

Actually, I've already released ChatraBot. There is so many things I wanted to do, from simple edits, to bug fixes, to renaming the whole thing, but I am totally done procrastinating going public with this.

I am actually years late with releasing this and going public with it. 4 YEARS to be exact.

Chatrabot is a platform that generates intelligent chat bots on the fly for your e-commerce shop. It works by connecting to your e-commerce shop, learning about your products, and building a model that allows it to chat intelligently with your customers about what you're selling.

The idea of learning about your products constitutes storing metadata, names, categories, etc and running those through an AI model that allows intelligent chat that is specific to selling your products.

The flow starts with prompting the user to choose something to buy and ends with a cart confirmation that creates an order back into your e-commerce system.

Inspired by the Build in Public movement and all the entrepreneurs who are just doing it, and driven by the desire to build my own products, I decided to revive Chatrabot, a project that I have started in 2017 and just release it.

I have kept Chatrabot, despite having a decent more-than-an-MVP working product, secret. I was afraid of just being public about it and to do marketing properly. The end result is... NOTHING happened. What did I expect? I didn't fail and I didn't succeed because I didn't give the product a proper chance and I definitely ended up not learning anything.

So here we go again. This time, I'm a different person who will do things differently and definitely will get different results.
