Chatrio
Anonymous chat with strangers. No sign-up, ever.
Chatrio is a free, anonymous 1-on-1 random chat web app — no sign-up, no app download, no phone number. Two strangers get matched instantly over WebSockets, with optional topic-based matching so people with shared interests connect first.
I built it because most "talk to strangers" apps either require an account, a phone number, or an app install before you can even start a conversation. That friction kills the spontaneity that made sites like Omegle fun in the first place. Chatrio strips that away: open the site, get paired, start talking.
Right now I'm building Circles, a proximity-based local chat feature, as the next layer on top of the core matching engine — letting people discover and message others nearby without an account.
Alongside the product, I've been writing a ~160-post SEO content layer under the same domain (chatrio.app/blog), covering chat safety, conversation starters, and comparisons with other anonymous chat platforms.
Happy to answer questions about the WebSocket matching engine, the anonymous-first approach, or the SEO content strategy.
