I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on called CheckoutPress.

The motivation behind this was simple: many makers and digital product sellers globally still struggle to get access to Stripe. Paddle is a fantastic alternative as a Merchant of Record, but integrating their new Billing V2 into WordPress—while keeping digital files secure—can be a technical headache.

I built CheckoutPress to be a "Zero-Trust" bridge between Paddle and WordPress. It’s designed specifically for selling digital products without needing a complex SaaS wrapper or monthly subscriptions.

Key Features:

• Paddle Billing V2 Native: Built specifically for the modern Paddle API (Client-Side Tokens and secure Webhook signatures).

• Zero-Trust Storage: Instead of storing files in public media folders, it uses a protected directory. Files are served via secure PHP streams only after a verified purchase.

• Shadow Orders: If you use WooCommerce for reporting, the plugin can automatically create a "Completed" order in Woo every time a Paddle transaction is successful.

• One-Click Mapping: You just link your Paddle Price IDs to your secure files directly in the WP admin.

• Customer Dashboard: A clean portal for customers to manage their accounts and access downloads.

The Tech Stack: It’s a hardened WordPress plugin designed to work on any standard hosting environment (Nginx, LiteSpeed, etc.). The goal was to keep everything local and under the user's control—no middleman servers.
