July 15, 2020 Launched at Product Hunt

Chirr App is live on Product Hunt!

Three years ago, I decided to take a leap and leave my software-engineer career to become an indie maker.

Chirr App was the very first app that I launched on Product Hunt. Since 2017 when I first launched the app, it has been used by 9.5K people to publish 22K threads and 330K tweets!

It helped to start my indie maker career, and now it's my full-time job!

June 30, 2020 Shipped the Pro plan

After several weeks of work, I shipped a new Pro plan and even got its very first subscriber!

This new plan contains two key features that make Chirr App more useful for professional Twitter users:

  • Threads scheduling.
  • Blitz: a feature that allows quickly process Twitter mentions.

I'm especially proud of the latter, as it addressed a major pain point of Twitter and also differentiates Chirr App from other social management tools. It's truly unique, and I happy with my achievement both as a product manager and software developer.

This plan allows me to charge more as it targets the Twitter users that focus on creating content and growing their audience.

June 23, 2020 100 paid subscribers!

Nearly two months after the launch of the paid plan, Chirr got 100th subscriber.

It's a massive milestone for me personally because I spend three years building and launching various products, and only now I got to the 100 paid subscribers mark.

And all that with zero marketing and sales!

How did I do that? 3 years ago, before Twitter threads were a thing and the characters limit was still 140, I created and launched my very first product on Product Hunt. I spend one week building it and then a couple more to improve it. I quickly realized that it's not something people would pay for, so I decided to pursue other ideas.

I practically abandoned the project, only occasionally fixing small bugs. However, people loved it. They kept using and sharing it, so Chirr kept growing, slowly but steadily. Last year I decided to put a donation link just as an experiment and to my surprise users were happy to send me money along with requests for more features and improvements.

The increasing number of donations convinced me to spend time and build an improved version of the app with premium features and it worked!

Stick to it!

August 3, 2017 Product Hunt launch

It was my very first product and Product Hunt launch after I left my full-time job to pursue an indie hacker career.

Following a popular trend of rapidly building products in public, I spend a week building it and documented the whole process on Twitter.

It wasn't very successful launch, yet it gave me energy and confidence to keep going.

About

I built the Chirr App in 2017 after noticing that tweetstorms are becoming popular, long before Twitter introduced it as a feature.
