ChoiceWise

AI shopping assistant for smarter buying decisions

May 15, 2026 I built ChoiceWise because half of Reddit product questions are basically: “which one should I buy?”

I’m building ChoiceWise because online shopping has become confusing, even for people who know technology quite well.

A real example:

Someone wants to buy a phone, TV, or smartwatch. They open Google, Reddit, YouTube, Amazon reviews, retailer pages, and comparison websites. After 30–60 minutes, they still have the same question:

“Which one is actually the better choice for me?”

You can see this every day on Reddit in places like r/phones, r/smartphones, and r/AndroidQuestions.

People ask things like:

“Is this phone better than that one?”
“Which phone has the best battery?”
“What should I buy for gaming?”
“Is OLED worth it for my room?”
“Which phone should I choose under my budget?”

ChoiceWise is my attempt to answer those questions in a more structured way.

The platform is live now, but still focused. At the moment, it mainly covers mobile phones, with some TVs and smartwatches also available.

There are two main parts:

  1. Product comparison pages
Instead of only showing specs side by side, ChoiceWise gives an AI summary, main advantages, disadvantages, scores, and buying links.

Example comparison page (you can search products and add with 'add to compare' button):

  1. AI Wizard
This works more like a shopping assistant. The user explains what they need in normal language, and the wizard asks follow-up questions before recommending products.

Example:
“I’m looking for a TV for a 30 square meter living room for watching movies.”
then provide with price range, brand upon request and that's it!

AI Wizard:

Right now, ChoiceWise is UK-oriented because affiliate links, prices, and product availability are regional. That means prices for other countries are not visible yet.

If the product gets traction, the next step is accessing a much broader product catalogue. That is expensive, but it would allow ChoiceWise to expand into many more categories and become a real comparison and product-advisor tool internationally.

I’d really appreciate feedback from the Indie Hackers community:

Would you trust an AI shopping assistant for buying decisions?

Is the comparison page more useful, or the AI Wizard?

And if you were launching this from zero audience, which acquisition channel would you test first?

ChoiceWise was created to solve online shopping confusion: too many products, biased rankings, mixed reviews, and specs that are hard to compare. It helps people choose faster and with more confidence
