April 10, 2020 Announce How We Can Help Fight Against COVID-19

Our team is trying to spread the word on how Clava can help assist in the fight against COVID-19.

Right now people are commuting to their local grocery/convenience stores to see if these stores have the food or supplies they need, in stock. So people around the world are constantly doing this, just to find out our local stores are still sold out of paper towels... This means we left our house and traveled to our local grocery/convenience store for no reason and in fact increased our chances of being infected.

But what if there was a way we could see what these grocery/convenient stores have in stock without having to physically go there?

This is the solution we're trying to provide with Clava.

Example:

When you open Clava the home page consists of a map of your current location. On this map are a bunch of different location-based rooms that you can join to start chatting with people in that specific location.

We're asking users to create rooms for their local grocery/convenience stores and then post pictures of the food/supplies these stores have in-stock inside of their respected rooms. As more Clava users go grocery shopping they can post pictures of what the store has in stock when they were there.

Doing this will allow other Clava users to get updates on what they're local store has in stock and they can chat with users inside the room who have or have been to that store recently.

These are really hard times that we're all living in and we all want this to go back to normal as soon as possible.

We envisioned Clava being a tool to help communicate with one another and to get the information we need without leaving our homes.
