May 6, 2025 🌱 How I Built Simple HTML Templates for Selling Digital Products – And Why I Did It

Hey Indie Hackers! 👋

A few months ago, I found myself in the same situation as many of you: I wanted to sell digital products online, but I was overwhelmed by the tech side of things. I knew I needed a website, but I didn’t want to deal with complex platforms, endless plugins, or pay monthly fees for something that seemed overly complicated for what I needed.

I wanted something simple, affordable, and customizable — a website that allowed me to sell my digital products without feeling like I needed to be a developer. So, after a lot of trial and error, I decided to build my own HTML/CSS templates. They’re designed for anyone looking to get their digital product store online fast, with no coding experience required.

Why These Templates?

I’ve been there. I know how hard it can be to get a product to market, especially when you’re juggling everything else. Setting up a website should not be the hardest part of your business — that’s why I built these templates to be as easy-to-use and beginner-friendly as possible.

Each template is designed to be:

  • Mobile-friendly: In today’s world, most traffic comes from mobile. These templates are fully responsive and look great on all devices.

  • No-code setup: Whether you’re using Payhip, Gumroad, or selling directly from your website, you don’t need any coding knowledge to get started. I’ve kept everything clean and simple, just plug in your content, and you’re ready to go.

  • Flexible design: I wanted to make sure these templates were beautiful but also functional. You can easily edit the HTML and CSS to match your brand or style.

Why Did I Create Them?

The short answer: I wanted to take the stress out of launching an online store.

When I started my own side project, I couldn’t find an affordable, no-frills way to build a digital product store. Everything was either too expensive, too complicated, or just didn’t offer the flexibility I needed. After spending too much time experimenting with builders that didn’t give me full control, I decided to go back to basics and create a simple solution for myself.

And then it hit me: Why not share this with others?

These templates are built with creators in mind — artists, writers, course creators, designers, or anyone who wants to start selling digital products without the hassle.

What You Get:

  • 3 different, ready-to-use HTML templates that are perfect for selling digital products like eBooks, printables, digital art, etc.

  • Clear, easy-to-follow instructions — you can launch your store in a few hours.

  • Customizable designs that can easily be tailored to your needs (no need to be a web developer).

  • Fast, responsive layout that looks great on both desktop and mobile devices.

The Journey So Far

I’ve had the privilege of helping other creators get their digital stores up and running with these templates, and the feedback has been amazing. Many have told me how easy it was to go live quickly, and how much more professional their stores look compared to what they initially built with drag-and-drop builders.

Seeing how these templates have helped people really motivated me to keep refining them and make them available for others who are in the same position I was in.

Why I'm Sharing This with Indie Hackers

I’m all about helping fellow creators and small business owners. As someone who’s been in your shoes, I know that the right tools can make all the difference.
