Clerk.ai

While Clerk.ai the brand has been used before, the current product/service listed here on Indie Hackers was created as a fresh start in May 2021.

A brief history: following an acceleration program in 2016 and incorporation and product building in 2017 I eventually ended getting a few paying customers at a low price point and spent about a year to serve those customers, barely making good on the most basic promises of the product/service and a year later having to tell my paying customers that I would stop offering the service and instead help them use some more established services on the market.

It took until May this year for me to reconsider launching a new version of Clerk.ai, this time as something that helped non-technical but spreadsheet-savvy folks make use of machine learning.

Recent advances in AutoML combined with years of working with applied machine learning and Google Apps Script in various projects made me curious to explore the combination of the two as a service. A Google sheets add-on could be small enough for an single developer to build and support while still offering enough value to a niche audience. I decided to make at least some progress on a weekly basis and see where it took me.
