Ranked, editable short clips from long videos

September 14, 2026 ClipSignal is live: ranked short clips from long videos

I’ve been working on ClipSignal, a tool built around a simple problem:

Turning a long video into short clips isn’t really about cutting it into smaller pieces. The difficult part is figuring out which moments are actually worth turning into a clip.

ClipSignal analyzes the full video, finds moments that can stand on their own, and ranks them so creators don’t have to scrub through an hour of footage looking for the good parts.

From there, you can review the suggested clips, adjust them in the editor, add captions and framing, and export them as vertical short-form content.

One thing I spent quite a bit of time getting right was making sure the ranked moments remain consistent even if rendering or exporting fails. A processing issue shouldn’t make a good moment suddenly disappear from the results.

The product is live now, and I’m especially interested in hearing from people who regularly turn podcasts, interviews, streams, or other long-form videos into Shorts/Reels.

What takes the most time in your current workflow — finding the right moment, editing the cut, reframing, captions, or something else?

Would genuinely love to hear how other creators handle this today.

The ranking thesis is more interesting than just another clip editor, but the key question seems to be whether discovery is actually where creators lose most of their time. Have early users shown that ClipSignal’s ranked moments save more time than the editing/reframing/caption steps that come after?

That’s exactly what we’re trying to validate now.

My assumption came from how painful it is to scrub through a long podcast/interview just to find the few moments actually worth clipping. But I don’t want to claim that’s the biggest bottleneck until we see it consistently with real users.

So right now I’m looking at two things separately: time spent finding the moment vs. time spent polishing it afterward.

Curious about your workflow too — which one usually eats more of your time?

That split between finding the moment and polishing it is the right comparison to watch. If you’re open to it, what’s the best email to reach you on?

Absolutely! Feel free to reach us via the support email listed on ClipSignal — happy to continue the conversation there.

Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.

About

ClipSignal exists because finding strong short-form moments inside long videos is slow. It reviews the full source, ranks self-contained moments, and prepares editable vertical clips while keeping creators in control.
