Very cool idea for a newsletter. I also run a newsletter for a niche audience (tech conference speakers). Just curious, but what's your plan for monetizing?

Thank you! Can you send me a link to subscribe? I know a few speakers who might be interested.

Re: monetization, to be honest, I'm not sure yet. I have an idea for a desktop product that I'd like to build that may fit with this audience, so maybe that. Or maybe a newsletter sponsor if the audience is big enough? We'll see!

@karlhughes Nevermind :) found your newsletter. Very cool! I'll send it to some speakers I know.

I'm toying with the same two options now. Good luck, I look forward to following your progress 😀

@karlhughes Got your welcome email last night. Looks great! How did you get it to appear in the Gmail “Updates” tab as opposed to the “Promotions” tab?

          1. 1

            I wish I knew!

It's just a Mailchimp template. No images other than the header, and I'm guessing because the call to action isn't salesy it's not getting caught in promos.

I actually don't use the Tabbed Interface for Gmail, so I don't know where my weekly email goes. I get a pretty high open rate (>50%) so I'm guessing it's not Promotions...
