You have one job with this, if your app truly solves your users problem, your job is getting it in front of them. If your users are very defined to the last details, then you would know exactly where to find them, if you do they would happily try a solution that solves their problems. Also bear in mind they are a million apps out there no really wants to get another app that is not totally useful in their stack.

Thanks for the thoughts. My assumption is target users would be like I was when looking for these features in an app—I searched the app store for AI Cocktail app then tried the top few results which all let me down and then I gave up. Launching a native app and paying for promo there is definitely an idea but due to these "millions" of apps, it does feel like a long shot!

Not just based on ingredients, but mood, time, vibe
(e.g. tired, hosting friends, quick solo drink)
→ Constraint-based suggestions
“low sugar”, “no strong alcohol taste”, “2 ingredients max”
People often care more about constraints than recipes
→ Confidence layer
AI can generate drinks, but users want to know:
“Will this actually taste good?”
→ ratings, validation, or “tested combos”
→ Occasion mode
Date night / party / chill evening
→ not just drinks, but experience
→ Save + repeat behavior
If I like something, I want it easy to remake
(simple memory > endless discovery)
You’re already strong on generation — the next unlock is decision + trust.
Curious — are people using it more for discovery or “what can I make right now?”
Also, I’m running a small project (Tokyo Lore) where we test ideas like this with a focused group of builders.

Maybe it's hidden in my app, but I have a flavor quiz under cocktails → discover, which aims to solve “What should I drink right now?” & Occasion mode.
I also have filters on my cocktail page that solves most of your Constraint-based suggestions although I could add sugar content.
AI creations are not shared so they are always original and made specifically for the user—so no rating system can be implemented. I understand user confidence in AI created cocktails is a hard sell, but the reality is that AI understands flavor profiles & combinations better than anyone realizes if prompted correctly—and this has been fine-tuned on the back end to ensure quality control.

The flavor quiz + filters make sense. The interesting challenge now is less “can it generate” and more “do users trust the output enough to act on it.”

The ingredient-first approach is the right call- that's the actual use case when you're standing in front of your bar at 10pm . Most apps make you browse recipes and then go shopping. Flip that, and you've got something people actually use.
