Code Language Converter
Convert code to other languages using AI
This morning I checked my email and there it was!... a notification from Stripe that I got my first payment for Code Language Converter.
It has been around a week after launching in Product Hunt and I had a significant amount of traffic from there. However, most people were just curious to try the service, they used the free credits but never purchased any paid plan.
I am still not sure if this is going to be an isolated payment or if more people will find it valuable to pay.
Also, It's not MRR it's just a one-off payment which is not ideal, If I manage to get more customers, I'll need to consider changing the plans to offer recurring options.
Lot's of work ahead but it's a good start!
After playing a bit with Openai's GPT-3, I decided to build a side project to understand a bit more the technology. After considering a few options, I realized there weren't any great online code language converters so I decided to build my own.
I think this tool could be helpful for developers migrating codebases into different languages.
Initially, my idea was to build a SAAS business model around this tool. However, I think the best model is "pay as you go" based on credits.
I will keep you all updated about the progress, wish me luck :)

Congrats Ignasi! That's the best feeling :)
Your product is perfect for SEO, so make sure you work on that!
Thanks! Yes, top priority on my list!
Well done on the first customer! This is a really cool project and the UI is slick. I feel like JavaScript to TypeScript could be a conversion where there is market opportunity.
Yes, I can imagine there are a lot of projects that need that conversion. However, most conversions to TS are not that hard so not sure if the tool would be actually needed for that particular use case.
That's a fair point! I think another application could be Python to C++, Java or JavaScript. Lots of data scientists only code in Python, and I've heard there can be friction when their code is passed over to an engineering team. Perhaps your product could help with this. Another useful application could be in education, where there could be a need to quickly convert documentation or textbook examples from one language to another.
Hello,
The world is small i used your product one week ago. It really helps me a lot.
Great to hear that! Do you have any recommendations for improvement? Do you use it for personal use or for your company to migrate existing codebase?
I used it to migrate some Python to C# for my company.
Congratulations on that, Ignasi.
I wish you much success for your future and the future of your Code Language Converter.
Edit:
I checked out your website. Maybe put the plans more into focus. Currently the user really need to search for the plans, as he lands directly inside of the tool.
With little or no info at all.
Give the user a bit more, that could increase your conversation rate.
Btw. the sidebar is empty, but expanded. Looks a bit weird, as the content is pushed to the right for nothing.
Hi Alex,
Thanks for your feedback!
Yes, I think the plans could be more visible. Also, the sidebar is something I am currently fixing :)
