CodeKits
Curated hand crafted professional code.
I have built many products over the years as a Freelancer, Consultant, Sr. Engineer and helped mentor many up-and-coming engineers throughout my career. Having run R&D in several positions – I always wanted a place I could go purchase launch-ready SaaS products that could be adapted to fit the particular brand or market I was working in.
The challenge is that most code marketplaces have low-quality, churned-out code that is produces to add items quickly to the marketplace. Some sources are better than others but overall, most are either outdated, poorly created or just bad. More often though, the presentation and narrative around the software stack looks very promising, but once purchased (usually non-refundable) you find a PHP script with a 90's styled HTML frontend coded like it's 1995.
I feel there could be a market for premium codebases for people who are entrepreneurial but not technical or want to start fast. Having to code from the ground up for every new venture ensures companies are propped up on VC or Seed funding and path to profitability is long if not non-existent.
I want to help coders and creators make more for their great work, make others work better by helping them raise the bar - and provide quality options for people wanting to move faster into a new venture.
Please comment, critic or share thoughts and ideas - I don't know what this will look like but we're going to find out!
About
I want a marketplace for clean, best-practice-based micro-apps and software that people can be confident in what they are purchasing and developers can earn a fair price for the hard work it takes to produce a product.

This kind of codebase is often a lot more robust, performant and easy to deploy and modify as most of the modern codebases that are built for "scaling", when often that scale is not even needed.
market is definitely there considering readymade saas toolkits available in almost all the languages. What kind of ownership model would you support? would developer be able to sell same codebase to multiple customers or it would exhaust after first sale?
I would want to allow the author to choose an "exclusive" pricing model with a very high price tag as the loss of future sales over the years.
