March 13, 2026 Building a social media platform for developers at 15 y/o: How I got my first 21 users by focusing on "Micro-interactions"

Hi everyone,

I’ve been building Codeown, a platform designed for founders and developers to ship their daily progress and stay consistent.

Instead of chasing complex AI features, I decided to go back to basics and focus on the "Developer Experience" (DX). Today, I reached a small but meaningful milestone: 21 active builders shipping daily.

What I’ve learned so far:

  • Details matter: Adding simple things like "Live Typing" cues and satisfying "Ship" sound effects changed the vibe from a static site to a living product.

  • The "Pulse Score": Gamifying consistency (we call it Pulse) is what keeps people coming back.

  • Build in Public works: Twitter has been my main engine, but I’m looking to connect with deeper thinkers here.

I’m building this as a solo founder, focusing on clean design (B&W aesthetic) and a distraction-free environment.

I’d love to hear your thoughts: What is the one "micro-feature" that made you fall in love with your favorite dev tool?

About

I'm building Codeown to stop side projects from dying in the dark. It’s a dedicated, distraction-free space designed to turn the lonely grind of coding into a shared, gamified habit of consistent shipping.
