In 2022, I launched a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th cohort of my cohort-based course teaching about finance for startups. I launched my original 1st cohort in November of 2021.
Here are some stats from 2022:
3 cohorts launched
$74K in revenue booked
108 members enrolled
41,280 page views on internal content
30 live streams completed
I came up with the idea originally because I teach similar content on my Youtube channel (50K subs) and many people were asking for a full financial modeling course in the comments.

I did a few polls via email & Youtube asking my audience if they would purchase a course if I launched it, and many people responded yes. So I thought that was decent validation.
But instead of making a course, what I really wanted to make was a substitute for a university finance degree but completely focused on tech and startups (more like a BootCamp).
So I decided to create about 20 hours of lectures (on financial modeling, metrics, fundraising, etc), but also include a series of live case studies with open Q&A, bring in a lawyer to answer questions, particularly around fundraising, build a community, and give lifetime access so that we can all continue to collaborate.
When I finally launched I priced the course around ~$500 and was terrified no one would enroll. In cohort 1 in Nov 2021 about 45 people enrolled, and then I had similar enrollment in cohorts 2-4. The primary people enrolling have been startup founders or talent, and a few VCs.
This revenue allowed me to shift from being a full-time consultant to a 75% time creator, which has been what I really enjoy doing.
In 2023 I hope to grow my Youtube channel more, bring more specialists into the program (as of right now we just have a lawyer, but I'm wondering if a VC or marketer could be cool guest speakers), and ask for more feedback from my students on how to make the program better.
If you are interested in joining one of the next cohorts put your name on the waitlist you can learn more about the program here: https://www.ericandrewsstartups.com/financeforstartups
