June 22, 2026 I spent months building an AI-powered crypto research platform. Here's what surprised me.

Hey everyone 👋

Over the last few months, I've been building CoinAstra, an AI-powered platform designed to simplify crypto research.

As an engineer, I thought building the product would be the hardest part.

It wasn't.

The hardest part has been distribution and understanding what users actually want.

A few things surprised me:

• Most investors spend more time collecting information than analyzing it.
• Information overload often leads to worse decisions, not better ones.
• A handful of engaged users provide more value than hundreds of anonymous visitors.
• Launching is much harder than coding.

CoinAstra is still in its early stages, and I'm actively iterating based on feedback.

If anyone is interested in checking it out, you can find it here: https://coinastra.com

I'm curious:

  • How did you get your first 100 users?

  • What distribution channels worked best for you?

  • What's one lesson you wish you knew before launching?

Would love to learn from other founders and would greatly appreciate any feedback on CoinAstra as well 🚀

What stood out to me wasn't the distribution challenge.

It was the phrase "understanding what users actually want."

I've noticed those can sometimes get tangled together because the users who find a product first aren't always the users whose behavior should shape it.

The tricky part is that both groups can generate feedback that sounds equally convincing.

June 22, 2026 After Months Building My Startup, Here's What Surprised Me Most

I used to think that if I built a great product, users would naturally come.

After spending months building CoinAstra, I realized I was completely wrong.

Building the product was the easy part.

Getting people to care is the hard part.

A few mistakes I made:

• I spent too much time adding features before talking to users.
• I assumed more data = more value. In reality, users wanted clarity, not information overload.
• I underestimated how difficult distribution is.

The biggest lesson:

10 engaged users who actively give feedback are far more valuable than 1,000 random visitors.

Those early conversations completely changed how I'm building CoinAstra.

I'm now spending less time coding and more time talking to users, observing how they research crypto, and simplifying the experience.

For anyone curious, CoinAstra is an AI-powered crypto research platform:

For founders who have already launched:

At what point did you feel real product-market fit starting to emerge?

What signals told you that users genuinely needed your product?

CoinAstra was born from a problem I personally faced as a crypto investor. Researching a single cryptocurrency often meant switching between multiple platforms—market data websites, news sources, social media, project d
