August 10, 2019 Finished my landing page!

I finally put the finishing touches on my app's landing page. Really wish I had done this sooner... I kept procrastinating writing the selling points/copy for it, but when I just sat down to get it done I only had to spend like 5 minutes. Oh well, a lesson learned I guess.

Additionally, I got Google Analytics set up for the first time which was a major learning experience, we'll see if I did it correctly. Now I just need to get some feedback on the landing page, set up beta testing on the play store and app store, and try to convert some users!

Page looks good, opens in a snap so all positives that way. In case you have 7000 colleges, it would be interesting to have a page for each of them for SEO purposes and in fact those pages may be more important than your landing page as thats where organic traffic could land. For the app your play store description and snapshots will matter more IMHO. Keep up!

That's an awesome idea! could pretty easily do that too, just using firebase and a template for the frontend

August 8, 2019 I bought my domain name!

Doesn't seem like a big milestone, but I'm excited! Besides my Google Play Developer account, this is the first money I've spent on my bootstrapped app. Buying the domain means I can publish the landing page I've been working on, link up GA, and move closer to actually launching!

About

I am working on College Bot to solve a problem I encountered while applying to colleges, learn more about building and releasing an app, and create a sustainable source of side income.
