Congressional Intelligence API
Senate trades, lobbying filings & federal rules as one query
Under the STOCK Act, members of Congress have to disclose stock trades within 45 days. I pulled our own ingested dataset of Senate trade disclosures and checked how that actually plays out: median disclosure lag is 23 days, average is 61.6 days (a few extreme outliers drag that up), and about 14.2% of filings land after the legal 45-day deadline entirely.
That gap between "the rule" and "what actually happens" is the whole reason I built this. The underlying filings are real public data, but they live as inconsistent PDFs and HTML across senate.gov and clerk.house.gov, with no clean way to query them programmatically.
Congressional Intelligence API turns three of those sources into one structured, queryable surface:
- Senate trade disclosures (ticker, amount range, transaction/filing dates, computed disclosure lag)
- Lobbying disclosure filings
- Federal Register rules and notices
- A join view across all three for cross-referencing (Scale tier)
There's also an MCP server (stdio) for agents that want to query this directly, and a Congressional Intelligence Apify actor if you'd rather run it that way.
Pricing is metered: Starter $49/mo (10k calls), Growth $99/mo (50k calls), Scale $299/mo (250k calls + the cross-join view). Docs and live API at the link on this page.
Genuinely curious if anyone here has hit the same wall trying to work with this data -- what did you end up doing about it?
About
Congressional trade disclosures (STOCK Act) are legally required within 45 days but our own data shows a median 23-day lag and roughly 1 in 7 filings missing that deadline entirely, scattered across inconsistent PDF/HTML
