Having been in the market for a job several times, I have experienced the full range of associated emotions. The frustration, questioning of self-worth, desperate exploration for any and all options etc etc. I have been in this rocky boat having been a new immigrant, layoff recipient or often just plain old wrong place at the wrong time. As many people here would realize, applying to job posts via boards etc rarely gets results and makes little sense given the effort vs reward equation. It makes more sense to find relevant people (preferably in the hiring team and not HR) and reach out to just have a chat about the open position.

However, the problem with the mentioned approach is the emotional drainage; you put your heart and soul into searching for people and personalizing connection requests to end up being ghosted. Well, the reality is no one would even read your request unless they are seriously looking. So 2 million dollar questions arise:

  1. How to hack the mentioned process in a way that maximizes volume of requests while maintaining some level of personalization

  2. Automate the process in a way that enables emotional distance i.e I only get involved when there is interest from the other side and not a minute sooner

To achieve the same, I created a tool that served me very well and I am delighted to share it with this community during the beta phase. A rare tool that is actually designed with the job seeker intended as the primary user and sustainer. I feel this gives us, the job seekers, a lot of power and control.

Most job search tools out there are not actually selling themselves to the job seeker. They are in fact selling a community of job seekers to potential employers and are designed as such. I want to change this.
