With Context we want to change the way digital marketers analyze their businesses by adding automatic & relevant context to their Google Analytics data.

Solving our own problems

After miserably failing in our two previous side projects, we totally changed our approach for deciding where we would put our energy next.

Trying to build something on the spaces of Insurance and Online Food, not having experience in either of them at all, was definitely not a good idea.

As growth and conversion optimization professionals, we have always been quite obsessed about having a GA annotation for everything that could affect our KPI’s.

And having a good overview about all issues affecting your business is quite complicated when you’re working on a complex digital ecosystem, multi-device, operating in many markets, with several teams involved in product development, with marketing folks launching, testing and stopping multiple campaigns simultaneously… also affected by climatic phenomena, holiday seasons, major cultural events and of course subject to major search engines algorithm changes…

With Context, we are focused on solving that specific and recurrent problem for us. We want to dramatically improve the process of taking annotations in Google Analytics, so we can better and faster explain what’s driving the trends of the KPI’s we’re accountable for.

Building our audience before building the product

I'm ashamed to admit it, but the approach we used to launch our previous side-projects, Sweetsurance and Sucumbo, goes against the #1 advice you can read on the internet about how to launch a successful startups: build your audience before building your product.

So, for our current project, Context, we decided to change our approach and already started to look for our first potential users before building the product.

We just launched a very simple website to showcase Context value proposition and opened an invitation request period for the private beta we plan to launch by the end of October.

Doing this, we have two different (obvious…?) goals in mind: (1) Validate that there is traction before investing in product development and (2) Get as much feedback as possible to properly prioritise our product backlog.

We hope this new approach helps us towards our goal of building a profitable online business.
