I’m a non-tech founder who just launched my first SaaS. Here’s why I built it.
"Freelancers are getting screwed by bad contracts. I realized that most of us just cross our fingers and sign because we can't afford a lawyer. I built decodecontracts.com to solve this. It’s an AI that acts like a legal assistant—flagging bad clauses and giving risk scores for $10. As a first-time builder, I’m struggling a bit with how to market this without sounding spammy. How did you guys get your first 10 paying customers?"

We are very much related if you read my first post: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/im-a-lawyer-who-launched-an-ai-contract-tool-on-product-hunt-today-here-s-what-building-it-as-a-non-technical-founder-actually-felt-like-5bf3eb144d
We’re still early, but my first paying customers came from very un-scalable outreach: I asked friends and acquaintances in my network — a few real estate agents and colleagues at small law firms — to try the product, give brutally honest feedback, and, if it actually saved them time, start using it on real matters. That handful of ‘warm’ users became my first 10 customers and also shaped what the product needed to be.
Just checked the site, honestly the hero is really good, "don't sign a bad contract, spot the red flags in 60 seconds" hits exactly where the anxiety is. But two things caught my eye that might be hurting conversions: the sample analysis in "See What You'll Get" is too small to feel impressive, and there's no social proof anywhere on the page. For a tool where people are uploading sensitive legal docs, those two together create a real trust gap. Happy to dig deeper if useful.
