Conversor IAE CNAE
The ultimate Spanish business classification code converter
The IAE CNAE Converter is currently competing for the 3rd position on Google's first page. It has positioned itself as an authority in the conversion of CNAE 2025 codes. Considering the mandatory transition to CNAE 2025 that all self-employed workers and companies must complete before June 30th, the trend suggests it will continue climbing positions.
I still believe the website is in its discovery phase. I'm convinced that as users interact with the converter, the user experience and the friendly, easy-to-use design of the Converter compared to its main competitors will make users consider it as the first option when converting a CNAE or IAE code.
Another advantage of this converter over its competitors is that it has the most updated and extensive database in the Spanish market, making it a highly reliable tool for users that exceeds their expectations when searching for information.

The traffic results are encouraging and demonstrate the growing need for a more professional and updated tool related to IAE and CNAE codes.
Additionally, they reflect the TIMING - unintentionally, the tool was launched at the most opportune and critical moment due to the obligation that companies and self-employed workers in Spain have to migrate to the new CNAE 2025 before June 30th.
Next steps:
Accelerate content creation, specifically YouTube videos about the new transition to CNAE 2025
Solve and improve problems and deficiencies affecting SEO
Begin seeking ways to monetize the website
Launch the first public API for CNAE and IAE Codes in Spain
Start working on v3.0 of the converter
The problem
Every business in Spain faces a frustrating reality: we're forced to use TWO separate classification systems simultaneously (IAE for taxes, CNAE for statistics). Choosing incorrectly can lead to higher taxes, missed funding, or penalties.
The government requires both but hasn't built a decent converter between these systems. The existing solutions are literally trapped in the last century - clunky interfaces, incorrect conversions, and completely unprepared for the mandatory CNAE 2025 transition happening now.
The journey
I began building the most comprehensive database of CNAE codes and IAE classifications in January 2025 using Supabase. Our first version launched in February was basic - it just converted codes.
Then something unexpected happened: right after our launch, the Spanish government released another update to CNAE 2025 codes. This only confirmed the need for our solution.
I went back to work, rebuilding and expanding relationships between the new codes. By March 26th, we launched version 2.0 with:
Complete CNAE 2025 directory
CNAE 2009 listings
IAE classifications
Full correspondences between CNAE 2009 and 2025 systems
The response has been incredible. In just two months, we've reached the first page of Google search results for our target keywords, organically outranking established institutions.
The solution
Conversor IAE CNAE is:
The only converter fully updated for the CNAE 2025 transition
Focused on the practical tax implications of each code
Built with the most comprehensive database of these codes in Spain
Constantly updated when government changes occur
Expanding into a full ecosystem with Reddit community, Substack newsletter, and YouTube channel
The results
After our March 26th launch:
First page Google rankings for key terms
Growing community on Reddit
Newsletter subscribers increasing weekly
YouTube content driving additional traffic
Outperforming established players
We're still pre-revenue, but testing a freemium model with advanced features for professionals.
What's next
Today we're launching publicly on Product Hunt! I'd love your support and feedback.
Our roadmap includes:
API access for integration with accounting software
Expanded sector-specific guidance
Document generation for administrative procedures
Premium tools for professional users
Building our Reddit community into the definitive forum for these classifications
Building a product for Spain's bureaucratic nightmare might seem niche, but solving a painful, specific problem really well is proving to be the right approach.
Would love to hear your thoughts - especially from other IHers who've built country-specific tools or navigated the Spanish business environment!
