Convert.FAST
Bulk file converter. Drop up to 1,000 files, get one ZIP.
Just shipped the public API for Convert.FAST. Everything the web UI does is now available programmatically — submit files, poll status, download results, cancel jobs, estimate costs.
Three requests is all it takes: POST to submit, GET to poll, GET to download. If you don't want to poll, there are webhooks with HMAC-SHA256 signed delivery, exponential backoff retries, and presigned download URLs.
The part I'm most proud of is the AI agent onboarding. The entire API reference is published as downloadable Markdown files. Give any AI coding assistant (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) a one-line prompt and it downloads a skill file, the full docs, and a CLI wrapper script. It can convert files autonomously with no hand-holding. I tested this by onboarding a Claude Code agent — it was converting files within seconds.
There are also bash and PowerShell CLI wrappers that handle the full submit/poll/download cycle in one command:
./convert.fast.sh photo.heic jpg
./convert.fast.sh scan.pdf docx '{"ocr":{"enabled":true}}'
165+ conversion pairings across images, documents, audio, video, ebooks, fonts, and archives. Every converter publishes its options as a JSON Schema so you can build dynamic UIs or validate before submitting.
Free tier: 100 credits daily without signup. Sign up free and get 500 Pro credits immediately — full Pro limits (1,000 file batches, 1 GB per file), no credit card, no expiry.

About
Built a .NET file conversion API years ago as a side project. Let the domain lapse. When the .fast gTLD launched, convert.fast was available. Bought it on the spot and built the frontend I always wanted.
