Initially Convey only supported plain text and media posts which was sufficient for launch, however some authors found this limiting and expressed a desire for more powerful publishing tool.
Convey now solves this problem with a new editor leveraging markdown to enable authors to describe the structure of their contributions and influence how they are displayed.
The new editor also features an integrated preview so authors can see how their work will look before publishing.

The Convey Digest is published in EPUB format as it gives a better reading experience across the various screen sizes and device form factors than PDF.
However, after publishing the September edition a few customers mentioned they could not read the digest. Most browsers cannot display EPUBs without a plugin and, except Mac OS X which includes Books, most platforms do not have eReaders installed by default.
Convey now solves this problem and makes it easier for anyone to read any edition of the digest by integrating an eReader directly into the website; https://convey.earth/digest

After a successful beta program Convey is now live at https://convey.earth!
Convey enables authors to publish their content and engage with their audience.
Each month, the highest quality content is aggregated and published in a digest. The authors earn a portion of a prize fund and their content reaches an even wider audience.
I deployed an early version of Convey to get some feedback and test the incentive/ranking mechanism with real-world data. The initial community has shared great content, engaged in interesting discussions, and found quite a few bugs (which are now fixed). There is still a long way to go, but the early results are promising!
