As a result of the public beta launch, we received over 100+ sign-ups, we also received feedback, suggestions, and bug reports which helped us improve our product. As well, we received a few offers from affiliate marketers to promote Copymedia hence we started working implementing affiliate program.

Following the initial closed beta launch, we immediately launched our product on Reddit, AI tool directories, and X. To accelerate user acquisition, we introduced a free plan. We had almost 24 users, which surprised us is that few signups came from SEO.

Although we started working on the idea in September, we didn't rush to build the product right away. Prior to coding the product, we took our sweet time validating the idea, getting feedback, and building an audience. Before we started building our first AI project, I needed to learn the technology and do a few test projects to familiarize myself with it. Anyway, we made our project live on X on Jan 19 and invited a few users to closed beta testing. The feedback we received was positive and we also received a few suggestions to improve our product.

In order to validate our idea, we went to the market, and all in all, we received pretty promising results. We asked close peers, marketers, X, and indiehackers for their opinions & other places. During our online research, we learned that our competitors read their reviews and tried to solve the problems with our solutions.

CopyMedia is an AI-powered tool that helps you to generate content ideas, write engaging social media posts, write SEO friendly blog, generate AI Voices, generate AI Images and design cool visuals or carousels—all in one place.

With Copymedia we planned to target solopreneurs, solo marketers & small agencies who are looking for quick content creation.

The idea of copymedia came to me when I was going through a lot of changes in my life. My wife and I decided to form a successful SaaS startup in 2023 so that I could quit my 9-5 job and start a nomad lifestyle and explore the world.

As a result, we began building products (Xofile.com & Tutbuzz.com) in search of success. However, two of our products failed miserably on the market. As an added bonus, my 9-5 job company closed in July as well.

Not everything was bad though, we learned more from 2 failed startups than anywhere else. The idea of building copymedia was one of them.

Building Copymedia was the result of my previous startup Tutbuzz which failed but we got lot of feedback from beta users. Tutbuzz was a graphic automation tool that helped you design once and then create multiple variations of that design. Firstly, users wanted a social media tool that can handle bulk visuals, and subsequently, they wanted a tool that would do this automatically, like AI, and a few more users asked for tools that could be used to create written content as well as visual contents, and some wanted a content creation tool that would help them prepare content without having to hire content creators and designers, and this is where Copymedia was born.
