copyPastelino
Hold Ctrl. Tap V. Paste better.
I built copyPastelino because my clipboard kept betraying me.
If you write code, docs, tickets, or emails all day, you know the moment: you copy something important… then copy something else… and the original is gone. Clipboard history apps exist, but many feel heavy, distract you with big windows, or pull you out of flow.
So I made a different workflow:
Hold ⌃ Control, tap V to cycle through what you’ve copied in a tiny preview near your cursor.
Release Control to paste the selected item.
No search box, no dashboards — just the fastest path from “I copied it earlier” to “paste it now.”
I also wanted it to be boringly trustworthy:
• No login / signup
• No internet required
• No tracking, no API calls
• Everything is stored locally (SwiftData)
• Minimal UI (menu bar + overlay) and designed to stay light on CPU
Because it listens for a global keyboard shortcut, macOS requires two permissions: Input Monitoring and Accessibility. Those are used only to detect the shortcut and show the overlay — nothing is uploaded anywhere.
copyPastelino is currently in TestFlight beta and I’m looking for feedback on stability and edge cases (long text, emojis, images, file paths, rapid cycling). If you live in copy/paste land, you’ll probably know in 2 minutes whether it clicks.
