cosmopad
Your personal Astronomer
It's an automated newsletter helping you to daily observe the night sky and see cool views of the moon, planets, conjunctions.
Everything is calculated on the geographical location you set during signup.
This allows to get a customized experience.
When I started this project my target was to get a working MVP in few weeks.
Things went quite differently and I took 9 months to get it done (like a baby XD )but finally I launched a beta version of cosmopad.org .
The service isn't a webapp as I initially planned but an automated newsletter. I made this change because I already had a positive experience in astronomical newsletters although not fully automated.
This choice is allowing me to test all the code in a more controlled way plus changes the paradigm. The user hasn't to play actively on the app put got directly in the mailbox all the interesting juice.
In the future I could recycle most of the code for an app/webapp.
The service is running well on a bunch of selected beta-testers.
Pricing is an hard choice.
I set 4$/month for "cosmopad basic" which is the real MVP. Few features but working well.
In the meantime I'm developing new features for "cosmopad wonders" that I would like to launch soon at $8/month.
Obviously before I want to promote the MVP "cosmopad basic" to get feedbacks from the users.
For this reason at the moment the service is totally free and it will be free lifetime for the users subscribing during this testing period.
If you are interested in this service, any feedback is welcome!
In the previous month I worked to find the best path to follow.
I registered cosmopad.org and started to find a service for a MVP landing page.
At the end I chose landen.co and started building the product's presentation, set up the mail marketing service ( I chose MailChimp).
In the meanwhile I came across bubble.io and started to build a working MVP prototype.

After years thinking about an online project about Astronomy, COVID pushed me to start it for real.
Started to brainstorming about features, name, resources, timeline.
Came across MVP and lean startup concepts.
Started to found more an more resources and discovered indiehackers.
