Back in 2020, when I was a junior Front-end Engineer, I managed to advance my skills by keeping up with JavaScript, and specifically with the React ecosystem. I saved so many links and newsletter issues that I never got around to reading.

My Pocket account was filled with hundreds of links, my mailbox with hundreds more newsletters. At the same time, I began reading tech e-books. All this content was scattered: Pocket, Newsletters, Kindle, iOS Book app. So I decided to work on an app to help me keep up with all that content. At first, I worked on a RSS reader — it was the core. Then I tackled newsletter reception. With those two only, it resembled a real product. But I couldn't stop there, so I added a bookmark feature. I am a Front-end engineer at heart, so UX is important to me. For this product to be fully usable, I couldn't satisfy myself with a web app. So I built a browser extension and a mobile app, to save URLs directly from the browser or mobile.

Today, CosyReader is live on web, Chrome, Firefox, iOS, and Android, with around ten users so far — mostly friends and a few curious people from Reddit, LinkedIn, and Facebook. I'm currently focused on marketing and content creation. On the tech side, the next step is adding PDF and EPUB support. Still building solo, still using it every day.
