Crawldesk
Turn your docs into an AI support agent
Hey IH 👋
I'm the solo founder behind Crawldesk. I launched Crawldesk Ask AI on Product Hunt a couple of days ago — and things didn’t go how I expected.
Current stats (few days in):
Position: buried
Upvotes: very low
Signups: a few
Activated users: 0
Paying users: 0
What I built:
Crawldesk Ask AI lets you add an AI assistant to your documentation.
Instead of users searching through docs, they can just ask questions and get answers instantly.
Connect your docs / data source
Add a widget to your site
Users ask questions directly
Built-in analytics to see what users are asking
Think: AI support layer on top of your docs.
What I expected vs reality:
Expected:
Launch → traffic → users try → some stick
Reality:
Launch → small spike → a few signups → no one completes setup
What I learned in the last few days:
Signups mean nothing without activation
I was happy seeing signups… until I realized no one actually used it.
Setup friction kills everything
If users need to “figure things out,” they just leave.
No demo = no trust
People won’t connect their data unless they clearly see value first.
Audience matters more than launch
Product Hunt didn’t bring meaningful traction without an existing network.
Silence is feedback
No usage = something is fundamentally unclear or too much effort.
What I’m trying next:
Building a no-login live demo
Simplifying onboarding to 1–2 steps
Personally reaching out to early signups
Talking to dev tool founders directly
Sharing short product clips regularly

Honest question:
For those who got signups but zero activation —
what specifically helped you convert users from “interested” → “actually using”?
I’m not looking for generic advice — real tactics that worked.

Appreciate any feedback even blunt ones 🙏
I built Crawldesk to turn static documentation into a conversational expert. No more "Ctrl+F" and praying; just ask a question and get the exact answer from your own content.

The Problem: The "Documentation Black Hole"
We’ve all been there. You spend weeks writing the perfect documentation. You cover every edge case, every API endpoint, and every setup step.
Then, a user joins your Discord or opens a support ticket asking a question that is literally on page three of your docs.
The reality: Users don't want to read your docs. They want answers. When they can't find them in 10 seconds, they leave—or they become a support burden.
The Solution: Crawldesk + "Ask AI"
I wanted to bridge the gap between "having information" and "making it accessible." Crawldesk is an AI-powered platform that crawls your documentation sites (Docusaurus, Mintlify, GitBook, etc.) and embeds a smart "Ask AI" widget directly into your UI.
Why this is different:
Context-Aware: It doesn't just search for keywords; it understands the intent of the user’s question using RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).
Seamless Integration: You don't need to manually upload PDFs every time you update a feature. It syncs with your live docs.
Reduced Support Load: It acts as a Tier 1 support agent that's awake 24/7 and knows your product better than anyone.

I’d Love Your Feedback!
I’m currently looking for early adopters to stress-test the widget.
Does your product have a "docs search" problem?
What’s the one feature you wish your documentation tool had?
I'll be hanging out in the comments to answer questions
