Custom AI Generated Children’s Stories
12:14AM, I had finally reached the point where it was “ready”, not done, not complete not even great ;although I do think it’s pretty cool). There was nothing left in the easy bucket on my whiteboard, so I decided to submit to Apple thinking I’d do a full release after approval. I submitted and went to sleep. Next thing I know, my little one wakes up and needs to be put back to sleep, I get her taken care of and see there’s an email from Apple. Rejected. I read the email, and I forgot to put in the privacy policy and had somehow selected that I was tracking users, but didn’t have an ask app not to track screen. (note: I don’t track users at all, I have no idea how I had selected that I do.). I add some links to the privacy policy and the end user license and resubmit.
I wake up about 7 and get my munchkin ready, after I hand her off I check and there’s another email from Apple. Rejected. This time it’s because my payment provider RevenueCat errored out while the tester was testing it. I search the forums and find that yeah it happens, resubmit. So I resubmit, and cross my fingers.
Later in the day, I get a break from $work, and check my e-mail. It’s been approved!!!
Now what? I had all these ideas about a grand launch on Indie Hackers, Product Hunt, Reddit, Facebook and anywhere else I can think of but now that it’s been approved, I see so many things I need to do. But I think the first step is this post, I can keep iterating, I can do some ASO and fix the minimal info I put in to get it accepted, there’s time to fix it. I don’t need to get it perfect the first time.
About
I recently had a little girl. One of our goals is to read to her as much as possible, so I created Create a Fable to always have something new to read to her
