We hit $1M in revenue for 2018

With this milestone I wrote some insights and things that we learned. Case study overview:

  1. Partnership strategies (The moment you quit is the moment you lose)
  2. If you want to be great, stay near great companies
  3. Growth Hacking: from trending on Github’s front page to continuous launches on Product Hunt
  4. How different we are from our competitors and why this worked for us
  5. Give Back: Education, Sponsorships, and Tutorials
  6. Can people apply our strategies to different businesses?
    What’s next?

Since I cannot write the whole article here I recommend you to check the whole story on Medium. Hopefully this will be an official article on Indie Hackers: https://medium.freecodecamp.org/we-made-1-052-000-in-2018-selling-ui-tools-here-is-what-we-learned-38920d86a296?source=friends_link&sk=527d10dfb69fd12028c596daa6df0e03

    Amazing
Quick question. How does licensing work? How do you prevent people from purchasing your product/bundles and then just sharing it with other people?

    1. 1

Hi, unfortunately we cannot control what people do with our products after they download them. People always steal and share so we consider that free marketing for us.

Free Marketing, that is an awesome way to look at it.

This is super impressive! Thanks for the in-depth article too. What are your strategies to grow further than the $1m mark? Are you considering investing in paid acquisition too?

    1. 1

Hi Rob, glad that you liked it and hopefully you can use some of our insights for your business. Sincerely, we didn't think about paid acquisition too much, we did some tests with google ads and didn't work very well. So we continue to keep our focus on creating high value and quality and since we already have good distribution, people simply share our products and promote them in their blogs, newsletters etc.
