Brand deals, invoices and GST for YouTubers

May 24, 2026 Why I built CreatorKhata for Indian creators losing Rs 2L/year

Hi everyone,

Just launched CreatorKhata — a business operations app for Indian YouTubers in the 50k-500k subscriber tier.

The problem I kept seeing: creators at this stage do 2-3 brand deals a month, but the back-office around those deals

is held together with Notion, WhatsApp, Excel, and a CA they only call at quarter-end. The cost is real — typical

leakage is Rs 50k to Rs 2L per year, mostly from:

- Payments that go 60-90 days past the agreed date because there's no GST invoice on file

- Contracts with buried perpetual-usage or exclusivity clauses

- GST registration that gets missed past the Rs 20L turnover threshold

- TDS deducted by brands that never gets reconciled at year-end

CreatorKhata is one app for the full pitch-to-payment flow — brand outreach, contract red-flag scanning, GST-compliant

invoicing, payment + TDS tracking, rate cards, media kits. The free plan covers the content workflow (deals, posts,

ideas, AI captions); the PRO plan unlocks the business operations side.

We just shipped a launch promo — PRO is free for everyone till 22 August 2026, no credit card required.

Tech: Spring Boot + React, Supabase Postgres, deployed on Render + Vercel. Solo founder, bootstrapped.

Would love feedback from this community — especially on:

1. Indian-market pricing — we settled on ₹199/mo or ₹1,799/yr. In the right zone?

2. The "free PRO for everyone for 3 months" launch lever — bold, or too generous?

3. Distribution beyond directories + blog SEO — what worked for you?
