January 15, 2020 First paying users!

In spite of being a community first platform, CreatorSpot just acquired its first two paying users. πŸ™Œ

Our goal was to validate that the infrastructure for our paid promotion actually works. Shortly after reaching out to some of our existing core users, we managed to get the first two purchases confirmed, amounting to our first revenue of $30. πŸ”₯

You can see more about our promotion feature, called CreatorBoost, right here: creatorspot.co/boost

What did you build the site with?

      Hey @WillSmithSF! πŸ‘‹
If you mean in terms of development, it's build on the so called MERN stack:
      MongoDB, Express, React and Node.js.
I hope that answers your question! 😊

Yep, that's what I wanted to know. Thanks!

Thank you @goramljak! Glad you like the concept! πŸ™Œ

We hunted it yourselves - meaning that we submitted it ourselves.
The fact that we got featured is not something we have made any networking effort in order to achieve.

A few tips (on top of my head) when launching in PH:
πŸ‘‰ I would say just spend a lot of time making sure that you have some good simple visuals and text to explain your product. Make it several weeks before, leave it and then come back to it again and see if you still think it still communicates your product in the best way possible.
πŸ‘‰ Make sure you have an avatar that sticks out and looks professional - it matters more than you think.
πŸ‘‰ Have social media content ready to post on the day.
πŸ‘‰ Be present throughout the day and be ready to reply on questions and feedback.

      1. 1

Did you have an audience before launching on PH?

      2. 1

Awesome. Thanks for a constructive feedback!! Really appreciate it. Is there a way that I reach you out with some visuals before going to Product Hunt? I can show it to my friends but it will bring more value if the feedback comes from someone who already made it and knows the game? :=)

Great feedback! We just removed the second emoji next to the πŸ”₯- this bug is due to some people not having the newest set of emojis. We are still discussing how we might make the previews better. Would you prefer to be without them or have them even bigger somehow? πŸ€”

October 25, 2019 First 100 sign up's!

It's just 2,5 weeks since we quite humbly published CreatorSpot to the world wide web. πŸŒπŸ‘€

In our experience, it's good to launch early, but not necessarily to make a big fuzz about it - before you are confident that you have troubleshooted the most crucial bugs and UX issues.

So this is what we have been doing. Optimizing, iterating and solving problems. To complete this mission, we have personally reached out to creators and asked them to try it out!

With great response and feedback, we have not only been able to make CreatorSpot a better platform but also secure our first 100 registered users. A warm welcome to everyone! πŸ₯³ πŸ™Œ

August 6, 2019 You can be an amazing creator without any exposure

Today, there are millions of creators eagerly trying to turn their passion into a living by growing an audience for their content. πŸš€

You can be a lifestyle influencer on Instagram, a YouTuber talking about nutrition or be hosting a podcast about movies. πŸŽ™οΈπŸ€³

We have a culture around creation like never before. Almost 1/3 young American kids want to make it as a digital creator. πŸ“ˆ

Unfortunately, the reality is that it is very hard to make it as a creator. There are many fighting for the attention and many platforms are prioritizing the creators who already has a big audience. Which also means that many people ends up consuming the same type of content from the same big creators. πŸ₯Ί

This is why we decided to make CreatorSpot. A community-driven platform where you can discover inspiring and underrated creators you would not find otherwise. Empowering creators who makes amazing content to get the exposure they truly deserve! 🀩
