August 27, 2024 MVP finally up on Heroku!

Today, I focused on optimizing my app's performance on Heroku by managing memory usage and avoiding request timeouts. Even though the screenshots were only around 3 MB, I realized that Puppeteer’s overhead and handling multiple requests were straining my server’s RAM. To address this, I implemented a functionality to save unique screenshots on the fly and remove them after each upload, reducing disk space usage. I also made sure to close Puppeteer instances properly and clear the screenshots folder before each capture.

To enhance the user experience, I added a "Did you know?" section that randomly displays conversion rate optimization tips while the app processes requests. This keeps users engaged during loading. I also set timeouts for API calls to prevent long delays. Still having server error issues when requesting large screenshots, which I'm going to look into tomorrow.
