Cropy.it
Screenshot & Clipboard App for Mac & Windows
Hey IH π
I'm Aleyna, and I just launched Cropy.it β a native screenshot + clipboard app for macOS and Windows.
The itch: I take screenshots all day, and I was tired of tools that either cost a monthly subscription, quietly uploaded everything to a cloud, or did way too much. I wanted something fast, private and simple. So I built it.
What it does:
β’ Capture a region, window, full screen, or an entire scrolling page
β’ A real editor β arrows, boxes, text, numbered badges, blur/pixelate, zoom loupe, crop
β’ OCR β pull text straight out of any screenshot
β’ Pin a snippet on top to read from while you type
β’ A searchable clipboard history for text and images
β’ 100% local β no account, no cloud, no tracking
Tech: native Swift/SwiftUI on Mac (ScreenCaptureKit + Apple's Vision for OCR), Electron on Windows, and a tiny self-hosted license server.
Model: one-time purchase (no subscription), 30-day free trial, free updates. Intro price β¬6.99 for the first 100 buyers, then β¬9.99.
Where I'm at: just launched, spreading the word on directories and communities. Early days β few sales, learning as I go.
I'd love your honest feedback β what's missing, what would make you actually switch, what you'd want next. I'll be around to answer everything π

The local-first choice feels like the more interesting bet here, because itβs clearly important to how youβve designed the product.
With the few buyers youβve had so far, are they choosing Cropy primarily because nothing leaves their machine, or because they wanted a simpler alternative without another subscription?
