Crow Authentication

Application Authentication as a Service

June 19, 2021 Finished MVP

Not only is the back end of Crow Authentication complete, now the front end is too. I put together a reference Next.js application and a video demo of how to quickly get up and running with Crow. This is my first SaaS, so I'm a little nervous and anxious to officially launch it on Product Hunt. I want to create some documentation before I launch, but I'm really excited to see people use it!

June 8, 2021 Finished MVP of API

The back end of Crow Authentication is done. I finished out the API. I used parts of my previously rolled authentication, but also improved it quite a bit. I'm going to go back later on and convert my old auth system to use Crow.

For now the system allows for user creation, email verification, password resets, and of course, sign ins. I tried to put a big focus on my infrastructure doing a lot of the heavy lifting and being scalable. I'm super impressed with myself on the infra and I think that will be my big advantage. It's nimble and scalable and probably some of the coolest stuff I've done in the infra/devops world.

June 5, 2021 Got the Idea

I was starting a new web app mostly focused on myself, but I wanted to add authentication so that others could create an account. I had rolled my own auth before on another web app so I started looking into doing that again. Before I got too deep I figured that I should instead create a set of APIs for myself to make authentication and abstracted out instead of a new version for each project. Then I went further and figured that others might also want the same benefits. Crow Authentication was born.

About

I needed a quick and easy way to integrate authentication into my next web app but I couldn't find anything that I felt suited my needs. Instead of looking more, I created it.
