Cryptocurrency price alerting
I've spent a fair bit of time deciding on various monetization options.
Running Cryptolerts.io in the cloud costs money (AWS Fargate is not the cheapest service), and I am self funding this app completely on my own to start with, so its important for me to start recovering some costs as soon as possible.
I've decided to offer:
- A free version (free-tier alert channels can be used for crypto price alerts),
- A basic subscription ($4.50 per month that entitles users to around 135 alert credits (essentially 135 potential alert notifications) - this is via Moonclerk + Stripe
- A pay-as-you-go model, where users can purchase alert credits as they need in packs of 100, using either credit card payments (Moonclerk + Stripe), or cryptocurrency payments (Litecoin or Nano)

The following is the high level tech stack in use:
- NodeJS
- MongoDB
- Docker (AWS Fargate schedules and runs the various services as docker containers)
- AWS Lambda
- Fully automated CI/CD pipeline with various other AWS services
I feel that Cryptolerts.io is ready to begin initial beta testing. I'll be looking for some help from people interested to start testing the app in a more meaningful way that I can do on my own.
