CryptoTaxReport
Your crypto tax calculations made easy.
Over a year ago, I had no clue about coding and what it takes to launch an app. I made the mistake of outsourcing all development work overseas to launch a social networking application for mobile phones. The project was not only delayed, but the end product was of low quality and filled with bugs. This experience taught me that as a solo founder, you need to understand all aspects of your business, including development.
Today, I am proud to have launched my first web application, CryptoTaxReport, which allows people to easily calculate their capital gains on crypto trades. In this post, I want to share my motivation for learning to code and building this product.
Becoming a proficient web app developer from scratch might seem like a daunting task, but it is achievable with effort and dedication. Here, I will outline the steps and skills required to go from zero programming experience to developing a fully functional web app.
As someone who had zero programming skills, the thought of developing a web application seemed like an impossible feat. However, I was determined to learn and turned it into a challenge for myself. In this blog post, I want to share my journey of how I went from having no programming skills to building a functional web app.
My journey started with enrolling in an online programming course. I picked a beginner's course that focused on Javascript, one of the most popular programming languages out there. The course was easy to follow, and I learned the basics of programming such as loops, functions, and data structures.
After completing the course, I was eager to practice my newfound skills, and I began working on small coding projects. At first, these were simple projects such as a calculator or a program that prints out the Fibonacci sequence. These projects helped me gain confidence, and I slowly started working on more complex ones.
The next step in my journey was learning web development. I started learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript through various online tutorials and courses. I learned how to create static websites, style them, and add interactivity using JavaScript.
As my knowledge of web development grew, I began working on a larger project: building my own web app. I decided to create a web application that would allow people to easily calculate their capital gains on crypto trades. The idea was to create a user-friendly tool that simplifies a complex process for those invested in cryptocurrency.
I started with creating the user interface and then moved on to the backend, where I used JavaScript to develop the logic for calculating the capital gains. As I progressed, I faced several challenges, such as dealing with user input errors, optimizing the code for performance, and debugging.
But, with patience and perseverance, I was able to overcome these challenges, and my web app was finally complete. The feeling of seeing my idea come to life through my own coding efforts was incredibly rewarding.
In conclusion, going from zero programming skills to developing a web app requires dedication, patience, and a willingness to learn. It may seem like an impossible task, but with online resources and a growth mindset, anyone can learn to code and build their own web application.
