August 25, 2026 Why I'm building CuePilot: an AI copilot that watches your screen so support doesn't have to

For the last few years I was leading the AI team at a company where I sat in on a lot of customer calls — sales demos, onboarding calls, support escalations. And no matter who was on the call, Product, CSM, or Sales, the answer to almost every question the customer asked was some version of "just click on this, then do that."

It happened so often it started to bother me. Smart people spending their day repeating the same simple instructions, over and over, to different customers who were all stuck in the exact same place.

At the same time I kept noticing a bigger shift happening around me: people don't want to do repetitive work anymore. They want to work smart, and they want AI to take the repetitive stuff off their plate. Between those two observations, I couldn't stop thinking about the problem, and eventually I decided to stop just noticing it and build something of my own.

That's how CuePilot started. It's an AI copilot that actually sees your users' screen inside your product, so instead of a support rep typing out "click here, then here," CuePilot can guide the customer through it in real time, deflecting the kind of tickets that never needed a human in the first place.

I'm still early, just a few months in, building this mostly solo. I'd love feedback from anyone who's dealt with support ticket overload, or who's thought about the same "why are we still explaining the same clicks by hand" problem.     Good question, Aryan — yes, customers do resolve it faster. It comes down to how we route the query: based on what the customer's asking, we decide whether to drop them into Guide mode or Act mode.

    Guide mode walks them through the steps in real time, similar to what I described in the post. Act mode goes a step further: CuePilot actually does the repetitive task for them, while they stay focused on whatever they were actually trying to get done.

    Under the hood it's knowledge base plus a layer of AI deciding, per query, whether the customer just needs guidance, has a generic question we can answer directly, or genuinely needs to raise a ticket. Most support queries are actually repetitive, the same handful of "click here, then here" problems showing up over and over, which means most of them are solvable in-flight, right in the moment, without ever needing a human or a ticket. If it is a ticket, it doesn't go out blind — it's raised with the full context attached: network logs, errors, screenshots, everything, so whoever picks it up can actually solve the problem instead of starting with "can you send a screenshot?"

    That routing decision is really the core of the product. Happy to go deeper on how we're tuning it if you're curious.

    The interesting part is moving support from written instructions to real-time guidance inside the product. The key question is whether customers actually resolve those repetitive “click here, then here” problems faster without making the support experience feel intrusive.
