I'm a solo iOS developer. I build small, focused subscription apps — the kind that solve one problem really well.

CycleGuide started with a simple observation: period tracking apps are everywhere, but none of them actually explain anything. They tell you when. Never why.

So I built one with personalized insights based on each user's actual cycle data — not generic health tips.

One person. No team, no funding, no marketing budget. Just Xcode and a lot of coffee.

It's live on the App Store now. Early days, but the feedback from users has been the kind that reminds you why you build things in the first place.

    This is a strong wedge.

The market is crowded if CycleGuide is framed as another menstrual tracker, but much more interesting if the promise is “help me understand what my body is doing, not just when the next date is.”

That difference matters because users already have plenty of apps that predict timing. The emotional gap is usually confusion: symptoms, changes, irregular patterns, mood shifts, and not knowing what is normal for them.

I’d be careful not to bury that under “personalized insights.” The sharper message is probably closer to cycle explanation, not cycle tracking.

Happy to put the tighter App Store/page angle in writing if useful. There’s a strong positioning layer here, but I wouldn’t try to solve the whole thing in a comment.
