Cyttraction Cybersecurity Courses

Hi Indie Hackers,

The MAIN VISION for my EdTech/ B2B SaaS Startup Cyttraction is a secure and globally scalable learning platform (local data compliance covered, same experience everywhere) with a focus on regular training and risk topics.

An infrastructure you can e.g. put your trainings on and be sure that your employees like to do their #Lifelonglearning - so you don't have to force them. ;-)

Being a.o. a certified data protection officer and IT forensics specialist, I made video/ audio production my additional learning project and produced first courses in English & German myself.

📎 02 Cybersecurity Toolkits

Once people understand the importance of working on their cybersecurity strategy, many ask for a toolkit that helps to easily documents the company's IT infrastructure - or give this project to a junior employee/ intern. So I created one.

At this point it might be interesting to mention, that Cyttraction from the start had clients in digital transformation processes like from the DACH area as well as digital native decision makers who already did some online courses before and are familiar with sign up and payment processes.

...like #HackerThinking - managers becoming hackers, or #MentalHacking where it's all about stress reduction and social engineering prevention. I offer those exclusive events in co-operation with a group of 10+ specialists/ speakers from my network.

📎 04 Educational Content Production

As you might feel, #EduTainment and content production are a thing here. Next to our own projects, we also work with and for other companies, platforms and education providers - based on annual content license agreements. That's a co-operation with film makers and specialized lawyers.

With around 90% of successful hacker attacks still starting with simple phishing mails (sms, calls,...), cybersecurity awareness training should be a non-negotiable in every company. The PROBLEM is that many solutions on the market don't work for small businesses or more digital people - they are too specific and/ or too boring (trust me, seen a lot...).

Cyttraction users also get a special feature: they are never left alone with their additional questions. I collect them and produce new videos to add them to the course curriculum.

The current Cyttraction offers are mainly a quick SOLUTION for every business searching immediate help to upgrade their human firewall. A lot of deep input, but curated and in an entertaining way.

The IDEA for Cyttraction came to me after working as a Digital Transformation consultant with many different companies since 2016. In the end, learning new skills (again and again) is and remains the biggest problem. The more complex the topic, the more complicated to motivate employees for voluntary learning... challenge accepted! ;-)

Reg. OBSTACLES so far: Covid19, sexist VCs (like no interpretation needed, very obvious insults), clients asking for a lot of free consultations before buying, running after invoices not being paid for months, on the other side negotiating postponed payment deadlines for my own.

On 25th of February 2022, one day after the war in Ukraine started, I also left my apartment in Tallinn and moved back to my parents house in Germany, because of the unpredictable situation in the Baltics.

Until August 2022, I could pay myself a little salary. But as the costs in Germany are much higher than in Estonia, I am currently searching for a cybersecurity job where I can run Cyttraction on the side.

I used all learnings mainly to optimize content, formats and PROCESSES. The focus for 2023 is to automate everything around marketing, writing offers (for more conservative clients) and I am also looking for solutions reg. the invoices. A proper UX/UI integration and shorter click funnel while offering courses in different languages (English and German) even before the actual platform goes live is also something I have an eye on.
