Acquiring a new domain name for a business concept, idea, or new project can be a lot of fun, especially if this turns into something that gets shipped, but getting that domain operational, which by necessity includes email, tends to be a real commitment.

I wanted a service that can handle a large number of vanity domains with a minimum of overhead and no additional settings that need to be synced across all the devices I have that check email.

Both of these tools are extremely effective at building prototypes, proving concepts, and scaling enough to deploy and acquire customers.

I really like having vanity domains for projects. This makes it super easy to stand up a page on something like GitHub Pages. What frustrated me is I couldn't find the same sort of thing for email. Adding another Google Apps domain isn't always practical, and can be expensive. This app handles forwarding, but with the ability to reply from your vanity domain as if you had an account there, yet without the overhead of yet another inbox to check.
